My beloved family member for 12 years went home to be with the Lord on June 22, 2017. This little Yorkie dog had such a big personality and love for life. He always walked me twice a day and tried to keep the blues away. He liked to greet people when we walked but didn’t like to stay and talk. Here’s my poem to the little guy.
*Important update* Little Bear was spotted in the sky this evening, 8/5/2017, over Emerald Isle. He’s still looking out for me and showing me favor … and probably wanting a treat too … the little stinker. Thank you Sharon for his picture.
Little Bear
No one greets me at the door
My Little Bear is here no more
The squeaking toys he use to play
Are silent now and put away
No one begs me for my food
I eat in peace but think it’s rude
The anxious pacing for “time to walk”
Has turned to sit and don’t do squat
No panting, scratching or licking butt
No barking, peeing or crap to pick up
It’s quiet … like a shoe will drop
And he’ll be in his favorite spot
Curled up in my lap asleep
Snoring loud and dreaming deep
About the cats he kept away
And how he loved me one more day
In Loving memory of Little Bear … till we meet again little buddy. – Rogersings
This is short funny read written by a dog like Little Bear “How to Walk Your Human”
GoD and DoG
by Wendy Francisco
I look up and I see God,
I look down and see my dog.
Simple spelling G O D,
same word backwards, D O G.
They would stay with me all day.
I’m the one who walks away.
But both of them just wait for me,
and dance at my return with glee.
Both love me no matter what
– divine God and canine mutt.
I take it hard each time I fail,
but God forgives, dog wags his tail.
God thought up and made the dog,
dog reflects a part of God.
I’ve seen love from both sides now,
it’s everywhere, Amen, bow wow.
I look up and I see God,
I look down and see my dog.
And in my human frailty …
I can’t match their love for me.
