Know where you’re going? Know the time?

And He (Jesus) was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. – Luke 9:23

What does “Die2Live” mean?  What does it mean to take up your cross and follow Jesus?  Die2Live is the way to abide, live and enjoy a born again life in Christ.  The cross we bear is NOT a list of things that you must do in order to follow Christ and the cross we bear is not a life of suffering and struggle as if though we are giving up something good to gain Christ but “take up your cross” means you must put your old sin self on the cross and “stay there”, crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20), so the new “Christ” self can fill you, comfort you, change you, lead you and nourish you by the indwelling Holy Spirit!  Jesus died in my place for my sin (past, present and future) … I place myself with Him, on the cross, to identify my old sin self as “dead to sin” and my new Christ self as “alive in Him” and I abide and rest in His Resurrection Power that is alive in me! 

Salvation in Jesus is the “Great Exchange” … Christ takes on my sin debt and I receive His righteousness, simply by belief in Him!  Jesus is the burden bearer, He wants to bear my burdens and lighten my load by His Grace so I can have rest and joy in Him in this world.  And when we lighten the demand on others by faith in Jesus then we reflect the Grace of God in us and GLORIFY His name.

But before you can live the Die2Live life of Christ you need to be Saved by Jesus Christ … you need to be “born again”.   Jesus Only Y’all – JOY!

Salvation is based on birth (in Jesus Christ) not in behavior (by man).  A profession of faith (knowing that Jesus existed) without a possession of faith (believing in Jesus) is not Salvation … you must be “born again” (John 3:3) and (John 3:16). 

 

You must believe the “gospel” of Grace to be born again in Christ Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).   

 

For those born again in Christ Jesus, Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) is the doctrine of truth provided by Salvation in Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6).

Note, the Gospel of Grace is the only way anyone has ever been Saved or ever will be Saved … from Adam, to Noah, to Abraham, to Jacob, to Peter and to Paul … to a sinner today … and until the last sinner during the last hour of the Millennium Kingdom on earth … that person will be Saved by Grace through faith in Jesus Christ!

 

The Old Testament believers, believed in a Messiah (Jesus) who would come and would take away their sin and the NT Testament believers, believe in a Messiah (Jesus) who has come and has taken away their sin.  The gospel of Grace in Jesus Christ has never changed but it has been told in different ways by different “stewards” during different Dispensations.   History means His-story!  It’s all about Jesus!

 

There is no difference in the Grace that saved Adam or Noah or Abraham or David or John or Paul and can save YOU or has saved YOU.  When we all get to Heaven what a day of rejoicing it will be! 

The Gospel of Grace preached by Jesus:

Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” – John 3:3

The Gospel of Grace preached by John:
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. – John 3:16
The Gospel of Grace preached by Paul:
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, – 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
The Doctrine of OSAS :
He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it. – Philippians 1:6  
For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. – Philippians 2:13

Here are the “UDB’s” of Salvation:  (that I developed).

Note, the only thing needed to be Saved is to “Believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ” … steps U and D are listed in order to prepare the soil of your heart to receive the “seed of the gospel” … which is the good news of forgiveness for you sin by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  “Understand” why you need to be saved from sin and “Desire” to be saved from sin.    
U – Understand that God is holy and God hates sin because sin has destroyed His world and sin separates you from His love and sin separates you from eternal life with God.  Understand that unless you are “reconciled” to God (saved from your sin debt) by belief in what Jesus Christ did for you “before” you physically die you will remain “eternally” separation from God, in a place of agony where you cannot escape, trying to pay for sin debt which you cannot pay. 
Note, sin is not just the terrible things that you do or the terrible thoughts you have but sin is a Self Indulgent Nature (SIN) … it is the reasoning you are born with that justifies what you do and your motive as being “good” or “good enough” in comparison to others.  It is not your fault you are born with a sin nature but it is your fault if you desire to remain a slave to your sin nature. 
Understand that sin is NOT created by God but sin is the “absence” of the Spirit of God (a separation from the love of God) … like darkness is the absence of light.  Sin causes the death and destruction of what God has created and sin first entered into God’s creation through Satan who wanted to be worshiped in place of God and sin spread to 1/3 of the Angels who likewise disobeyed God.  Sin then spread to our parents, Adam and Eve who disobeyed God by eating the fruit of the “Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil” (Satan), instead of eating the fruit from the “Tree of Life” (Jesus Christ).  And the whole human race is born with sin that is inherited from Adam and Eve. Understand that sin is the “absence of God’s Spirit” within the being of a person … sin is the condition of being separated from God.  Before the fall, Adam and Eve had fellowship with God … they may have had the indwelling Spirit of God but most likely had a covering or clothing of His Spirit upon them.  They walked in fellowship with the pre-incarnate Jesus in the garden of Eden.  But when the ate of the forbidden fruit, the Holy Spirit left them … they were “Spiritually naked” and afraid of God.  And this is our condition at birth, we are born naked and afraid of God because we are Spiritually separated from Him … we must be reconciled to Him to receive His eternal life and joy … we must be “born again”.
By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him – 1 John 4:9
D – Desire to be reconciled to God and saved from the eternal death sentence that you are under because you were born with a sin nature … you are a sinner Spiritually separated from the love of God.  You must repent of thinking that you can save yourself by being “good enough” to merit eternal life and have faith in thinking that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and by His death, burial and resurrection He alone merited your Salvation which is able to reconcile you to God and give you eternal life!  This is what it means to “Believe in Jesus Christ” and be “Saved from Sin”!
.Note, Repentance and Faith are one mindset explained in two different ways.  Repentance means to have a change of mind concerning who you are (a sinner unable to save yourself) and Faith means to have a change of mind concerning who you want to become (a sinner saved from sin by belief in Jesus).  Repentance and Faith are gifts of God’s Grace that work to achieve the gift of Salvation in Jesus Christ.  
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. – Ephesians 2:8-9

B – Believe that Jesus died, was buried and rose from the grave proving He is the only begotten Son of God who will take away your sin.  When you believe in Jesus, you become “born again” and receive the Holy Spirit into your life to Save you, Seal you and Change you into the person God created you to be!  Hallelujah!  Praise the Lord!  Jesus begins the good work in you and He will complete the good work in you (Phil 1:6) … from born again … to a new life in Him … to a resurrected body free from sin!

“Truly believing” means that we are firmly persuaded (in our mind) that God’s word concerning His Son (that he died for my sins and was raised for my justification) is true.  When we believe this, apart from any “change” in us (except in our mind), we are justified before God.  Our faith is credited as righteousness.  Then, after we are justified, we receive the Spirit (the “nanosecond” after we believe the Gospel) and are born of God.  – David Benjamin

A – Acknowledge that you are a sinner in need of a Savior.
B – Believe that Jesus is God’s Son who is able to save you from your sin by His death, burial and resurrection according to the scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
C – Call upon Jesus to be your Lord and Savior and receive everlasting life in Jesus!

  1. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the Biblical truth, which further confirms my salvation by faith can be assured, not to be stripped off when I make mistakes in daily life as my pastor preaches again and again on nearly every Sunday.

    I added U & D to explain why a person needs to be saved!
    U – Understand that God is holy and He hates sin because sin has destroyed His world and sin separates you from God’s love and sin separates you from eternal life with God. Understand that sin will result in eternal separation from God (death to your soul) if you are not “reconciled” to God before you physically die.
    D – Desire to be reconciled to God and saved from the eternal death sentence that you are under because you were born with a sin nature … you are a sinner.
    Note, this is what Repentance means, to have a change of mind concerning who you are (a sinner) and what you would like to be (saved from sin and born again).
    A – Acknowledge that you are a sinner in need of a Savior from sin.
    B – Believe that Jesus is God’s Son who paid for your sin by His death and resurrection.
    C – Call upon Jesus to be your Lord and Savior and receive everlasting life in Jesus!
