What is a chiasm or chiastic structure and where is it used in the Book of Revelation?

A chiasm (also called a chiasmus) is a literary device in which a sequence of ideas is presented and then repeated in reverse order. The result is a “mirror” effect as the ideas are “reflected” back in a passage. Each idea is connected to its “reflection” by a repeated word, often in a related form. The term chiasm comes from the Greek letter chi, which looks like our letter X. 

Some chiasms are quite simple. The common saying “When the going gets tough, the tough get going” is chiastic. The words going and tough are repeated, in reverse order, in the second half of the sentence.   Many passages in the Bible exhibit chiastic structure. For example, Jesus’ words in Mark 2:27 are in the form of a chiasm: “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.”

And that is what I am doing with this article, I am showing how the Book of Revelation can be viewed as a “Chiastic Structure” … where Chapters are grouped together by a “Theme”, one describing the beginning of the theme and the other the end of the theme.  For instance, Chapters (4,6) describe the Raptured Church in Heaven before the Tribulation and Chapters (19,20) describe the Raptured Church returning to Earth after the Tribulation.  By using this Chiastic technique to view the Book of Revelation, I hope it will explain what happens during this time of Great Tribulation and Wrath upon the earth in a way that will give an understanding of God’s purpose and plan for those who love Him and for those who oppose Him!

Revelation 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 12Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”  

Note, the Book of Revelation, like the Bible, is the story of the conflict between God’s will that is done according to His plan that is conceived in Heaven and God’s will that is NOT done according to His plan as it is executed on earth.  And that is why Jesus taught us to pray “Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven“.  Those who receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior can understand that God’s will for His creation has been corrupted by SIN and they desire to be free of SIN and enjoy God’s BEST for all eternity.  Those who receive Christ, are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, which is a way to fellowship with God, to walk in His Spirit, even while their OLD SIN nature continues to condemn them and trip them up as they walk upon the earth on their way home to be with Jesus.  Those who receive Salvation become Heavenly citizens who long to see God’s will be done on earth but more importantly, they long to be with Jesus who bought them their Heavenly citizenship!

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; – Philippians 3:20

Here is comparison of Larkin’s pre-Tribulation Rapture Timeline of the Book of Revelation vs the pre-Tribulation Timeline that I (Rogersings) am proposing:

As you can see, both Larkin and I agree on the pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church, but the big difference is that I have accounted for a UNKNOWN period of time (2 years?) for the Seal judgements and I am calling this period the Great Tribulation period on the earth.  I think the Seal judgements are a Transition period to prepare the way for the Antichrist Jewish Messiah to rule from Jerusalem and the Trumpet judgements (First 3 1/2 years) and Bowl judgements (Last 3 1/2 years) are the 7 years of God’s Wrath on the earth.

There is no shortage of commentary, analysis and speculation about the Book of Revelation … and I am adding one more to the list with this article “The Chiastic Structure of The Book of Revelation” on my “Die2Live” website.  I don’t know if my analysis is correct and I encourage everyone to be a “Berean” who searches the scriptures daily to find what is TRUE.  Note, the chart at the top of the page depicting the order of events in the Book of Revelation was drawn by Clarence Larkin over 100 years ago.  My interpretation of the events of Revelation are close to matching his … and I have noticed over the years that when I wrestle to understand how the events of the Book of Revelation will unfold, I am usually led back to agreeing with the view presented by Clarence.  Ask God for help and guidance to understand His word and to understand His purpose for this world and to understand His plan for your life.  Jesus Only Y’all – JOY!

Some of those who analyze and comment on the Book of Revelation say that the events described in this book WERE fulfilled in 70 AD when the Romans destroyed the Temple in Jerusalem.  However, this analysis doesn’t make sense because it is understood that John wrote the Book of Revelation around 90 AD (https://www.gotquestions.org/Book-of-Revelation.html) while imprisoned on Patmos Island … so how can the book be called a “Revelation” of future Prophecy if the events already occurred?

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw – Revelation 1:1-2

Sadly, many Christian churches do NOT ever open, discuss or teach from the Book of Revelation and they don’t encourage their members to read it, even though God has promised a “blessing” to anyone who reads and heeds the words of this prophecy.

Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.  – Revelation 1:3

The BLESSING from reading the Book of Revelation is that it affirms the FACT that Satan’s grip and Dominion over the earth has been DEFEATED by Jesus Christ and it describes the DETAILS of Satan’s demise … his banishment from heaven to earth, the defeat of the Antichrist/Beast Kingdom and Satan’s imprisonment in the Abyss for 1,000 years and his final residence in the Lake of Fire for eternity!  This is why the Book of Revelation should bring the BLESSING of Hope and Joy to the weary Saint who is “vexed” by the increasing SIGNS of EVIL in this world … the SIGNS that are pointing to the Antichrist/Beast Kingdom that is described in the Book of Revelation.  

“Prophecy casts it’s shadow on the present” … and that is why we are seeing the SIGNS of the coming Great Tribulation period that is forming and FOAMING like a mad dog … right before our eyes.  Note, in my interpretation of End Times events, I am using the term “Great Tribulation Period” to describe a period of time (2 years?) for the building of the Antichrist Kingdom (Seal judgements), followed by 3 1/2 years of the Antichrist Kingdom (Trumpet judgements), followed by 3 1/2  year of the Beast Kingdom (Bowl judgements) … which is a total of 9 years (beginning this year 2022?).

For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, – 1 Thessalonians 5:9

The Church is NOT destined for God’s wrath of the 7 year Antichrist/Beast Kingdom … but how about Great Tribulation period (2 years)?

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33

Jesus and Paul told us that those who believe in Jesus will face Tribulation in this world but Jesus also told the Church that those who keep His word to endure with patience for His RETURN (not being provoked to take matters into their own hand) will ESCAPE the “hour” of Temptation that is coming upon the earth … 

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience (hypomonēs), I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. – Revelation 3:10-11

What is the “hour of temptation” that is coming upon the whole world?  And who are the “earth dwellers” who will be tested?  And how will Jesus “keep” His faithful Church from this Temptation period?  Will the Faithful Church be TAKEN through the “open door” to Heaven … in the RAPTURE like John was BEFORE the hour of Temptation that came upon the whole world?

After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.” – Revelation 4:1

Yes, I think John is the example of a pre-Tribulation RAPTURE of the Faithful Born Again Church (those in the grave since the Resurrection of Jesus and those alive at His Appearing) and these believers will be kept from the “Hour of Testing” by being taken to Heaven by the Rapture event described in 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18.  The “earth dwellers” are those who CLING to this earth for their “best life now” and they put their hope in some man leader to lead them on earth and give them this best life now through a New World Order.  The “earth dwellers” are looking for the Antichrist to FIX the problems on earth … but I am a “Heaven dweller” and I am looking for Jesus Christ to rescue me from the problems on earth, especially the coming Tribulation period and Day of the Lord.  Maranatha!

Jesus has commendation and condemnation for His 7 churches in the Book of Revelation (Chapters 2 and 3) … one thing is for sure, you don’t want to be a Laodicean Lukewarm compromising Church member, who has shut the door on Jesus and is ignoring His knocking to come inside and fellowship with them … these people who think they are rich in need of nothing are vomited out of the mouth of Jesus

The history of the Born Again Church is one of Trails and Tribulation … there are many martyrs who have given their life for the testimony of Jesus Christ during the Church Age.  We are not to expect to escape Tribulation but the Faithful BORN Again Church is promised to be kept from the “Hour of Great Temptation” which I think is the “Great Tribulation Period” of the 7 Seal judgements.  And because we see the signs of this coming Great Tribulation period … Now, is the final hour to preach the gospel of Salvation that will DELIVER a person from their SIN and keep them the Great Tribulation period.  Now is the time to talk about the SIGNS of the Times and EXPOSE the fact that the COLLAPSE of this OLD World Order is being caused by the EVIL doers who serve Satan and they are are ushering in the New World Order of the Antichrist Kingdom (Ephesians 5:11).  Now is the time to join together in prayer for “Maranatha” … for Jesus to come and judge this EVIL world, remove the EVIL doers and REIGN over the world!

Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. – John 18:36

We have discussed the SIGNS of the Coming End Times period of God’s judgement upon the earth and the escape of the Faithful BORN AGAIN Church … Now let’s discuss the WICKED Ecumenical End Times Church and the Deceived Prosperity Gospel Church and Misguided Dominionist Church.  The purpose of the Church is to FIGHT the good FIGHT of Faith on earth which is to RE-establish/Reconcile God’s relationship with man through telling the “good news” of Salvation in Jesus Christ so that people are ABLE to achieve God’s purpose for them … which is to REIGN and RULE in Dominion over the earth under the Lordship of Jesus Christ during the Millennium period (and the Eternal Age) and to enjoy God forever and glorify Him.

Adam “lost” Dominion over the earth to Satan in the Garden and Jesus won Dominion back from Satan at the Cross.  As we see in John 18:36, Jesus told us NOT to FIGHT for Dominion of God’s kingdom on earth right now, by our way of doing things (like nations do) but to “SEEK the Kingdom of God and His righteousness”, allowing God’s way of peace through Jesus Christ to SHINE before men and glorify Him.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. – Matthew 6:33

The purpose of the Church is to build “Kingdom Citizens” on earth by preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ … NOT to try and build God’s Kingdom on earth, which is what Jesus will do for 1,000 years when He returns after a period of Great Tribulation and God’s Wrath. 

My interpretation of the events in the Book of Revelation (Chapters 4-20) are:

– A pre-Tribulation RAPTURE of the Born Again Church

– A Great Tribulation where the NWO Antichrist Kingdom is established (2 years?)

– The judgement of the Antichrist Kingdom (3 1/2 years)

– The judgement of the Beast Kingdom (3 1/2 years)

– The return of Jesus with His Saints to REIGN and RULE (1,000 years) 

The Antichrist/Beast Kingdom can’t be DEFEATED by men on earth … and ironically the conquering Antichrist Rider on the White Horse that begins the Great Tribulation period (The First Seal – Revelation 6:2) will most likely be FUELED by “CINO” – Christian in Name Only – who think they are serving God by trying to KILL those (including Faithful Christian) who will not join them in their “righteous” cause to take Dominion over the earth. 

And this WICKED Dominionist spirit is the essence and HISTORY of the Catholic Church.  They have committed BLOOD shed in the name of Christ … which has TARNISHED Christ’s name and their FALSE doctrine gospel of salvation by taking communion from the hands of priest has led many to Hell.  Just look at the “Inquisition” period, where the dark minded zealots of the Catholic Church (like the Jesuits of today) KILLED born again Christian who would not BOW to the authority of the Pope but to Christ alone!  The One World Harlot Church of Revelation will most likely be headed up by the Ecumenical Apostate Catholic Church (combining all religions) and she will be the “Woman Who Rides the Beast” … as she justifies the MURDER of those who won’t bow to the Antichrist FAKE Messiah, claiming that she is doing her KILLING for the glory of God!  What Blasphemy!

The wicked Roman  Catholic Church and the Roman Empire Government have been under Satan’s YOKE from the start but this is not true about the American Government and the American Churches.  America is unique among the nations, in that it is NOT a nation of ethnicity, except for the Native Indians who were almost completely wiped and have little to no influence in America and it’s culture.  The culture of the America we know today began with Christian martyrs who FLED the persecution of Kings and Queens who acted as though they were gods.  These Christian were seeking asylum to the New World (America) across the Atlantic Ocean to worship God according to the Bible … out of reach of the CONTROL of the Kings and Catholic Church “leaders” who demanded to be worshipped as though they were God.

The first colleges in America where seminaries to prepare pastors to TEACH God’s word and to train men to practice law according to a Biblical standard or be a good Godly leaders of society.  Sadly most seminaries today are CEMETARIES where men and women are trained to DENY the power of God’s word … and their FAITH goes to DIE! 

Sadly, America has LOST it’s way and it happened when the Freemasons Secret Societies came in to hijack the Declaration of Independence shortly after it was written.  These Luciferians primarily CONTROL the American Government by CONTROLLING the flow of MONEY by propping up a Military Industrial Complex that destroys nations who DON’T want to be CTONROLLED by the Western MONEY controllers.  It’s the MONEY controllers who have largely shaped the path of America “Babylon” and they have INFECTED and DECEIVED the Churches to teach a prosperity gospel, that God’s love is found in your prosperous “best life now” … which is a LIE from the Pit of Hell!

And this FAKE prosperity gospel is the BATTLE cry of the Christian New Apostolic Reformation NAR movement … They have been BAITED into FIGHTING for MAGA Dominion over the earth … in order to restore the prosperity that they think has been STOLEN from them by the “Deep State” Demon-RAT and Rep-TARD politicians.  They are on a “Q”uest to destroy Politicians who take BRIBE money from China to prop it up … yet they don’t realize that ALL Politicians, including Trump, Dance to the Deep State Devil MONEY that is CONTROLLED by those from the House of Satan who want to RULE from Zion.

So when the Church starts to WAR against “some” of the EVIL Muppets without addressing the ROOT issue, the are really just Dancing with the Devil … doing his will.  More importantly, the job of the Church is NOT to DEFEAT the EVIL of the world but to EXPOSE it and to preach the gospel of Salvation in Jesus Christ!

The MORAL corruption and ECONOMIC collapse of America can not be solved by a Christian Dominionist movement and putting a new President into power … because (1) it is time for God to judge the world, similar to the time when God told Jeremiah to not even pray for Israel because they were going into Babylon Captivity (2) Most people have no idea of the DEPTH of America’s SIN upon the world which tears down and destroys other countries in order to prop up American prosperity (3) ALL Presidents (even Trump) are PUPPETS of the Deep State Bankers and Controllers who LIE and LED America into WARS in order to CONTROL the world with HATE and FEAR and enrich themselves in the process (4) the Deep State Banker/Controllers who are orchestrating the collapse of America (and the world) because they sense the TIME for God’s judgement is near and they are preparing the way for the Antichrist Kingdom by usher in the New World Order NWO of Tyranny. 

What is happening is that the Satanic Globalist Secret Societies, Bankers, CIA, Muppets and Minions who run the world are no longer satisfied to ROB/TAX people on earth and enslave them with DEBT like they have been doing in the OLD World Order because the Demonic forces know that their TIME for judgement is HERE and it’s the time for the CLOSE of the Church Age.  Therefore, the Demonic ones know it is time to prepare the way for the Antichrist King … where people will be CONTOLLED on earth by a Digital BIO-ID and a Digital Currency and MONITORED 24×7 to ensure they are COMPLYING with the Tyranny of the NWO Antichrist Kingdom. 

This “Technocratic Tyranny” of CONTROL that is coming over the whole earth is the MAIN theme of the Book of Revelation … First there is the DETAILS of the building of the NWO Antichrist Kingdom (The Great Tribulation) for 2 year?, then there is the judgement and ministry of this NWO/Antichrist Kingdom for 3 1/2 years, followed by the judgement and ministry of Beast Kingdom for another 3 1/2 years, followed by the DESTRUCTION of the Beast Kingdom by Jesus at His return with His Saints, followed by the RULE and REIGN of Jesus over the earth for 1,000 years!

The Chiastic Structure of the Book of Revelations according to 6 Themes:

I have arranged the Chapters of Revelation (2-22) according to a Chiastic structure where the MAIN theme is Chapters (2-11) “Satan in Heaven” and the “Mirrored” Main theme is Chapters (13-22)  “Satan Banished from Heaven”.   I have also sub-grouped the Chapters of Revelation according to 6 Chiastic sub-themes.  I’m not sure this analogy will help but a Chiastic structure is like sawing one piece of wood into TWO pieces, when it is standing up vertically on a band saw, then “book matching” and gluing the two halves of wood together to create a beautiful guitar top and King David was one excellent Lute player and song writer. 

1. The Church Age (2,3) <-> (21,22) The Eternal Age

2. Rapture of the Church in Heaven before the Tribulation (4,5) <-> (19,20) Return of the Church to Earth after the Tribulation

3. Seals, Tribulation/Death to the Martyrs killed by the Harlot (Mystery Babylon) during Great Tribulation period (2 years?) and their Victory before the Throne of God (6,7) <-> (17,18) Destruction of Harlot and the end of the Merchants trade at the end of the Tribulation

4. Trumpets, God’s wrath upon the Antichrist Kingdom arrival of the Beast during first 3 1/2  years (8,9) <-> (15,16) Bowls, end of God’s wrath, the destruction of the Beast during last 3 1/2 years

5. Thunders on Mt Zion at mid-way point and the promise of the coming judgement for the last 3 1/2 years (10) <-> (14) 144,000 Jews Triumph on Mt Zion and 3 angle warnings at mid-way point and the description of the harvest for the last 3 1/2 years

We have been discussing the END of Satan’s judgement during the 7 years of God’s wrath but let’s go back to the beginning and discuss Satan’s FALL from being the #1 Cherub who COVERED the throne of God to becoming the #1 Enemy of God.  Satan’s FALL is rooted in his PRIDE, and his SIN was that he declared that he was “God”!

I (Satan) will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’ – Isaiah 14:14

Satan is perhaps God’s most beautiful and magnificently created being … in fact Satan was the PRAISE leader of the Angels and was known as Lucifer (The Light Bearer – Isaiah 14:12 ) before his fall … but his title was changed to “Satan” the Ruler of the Darkness of this world (Eph. 6:12) after his fall.  I don’t know why Satan sinned, but I think it was perhaps out of jealousy for the love and attention that God showed to Adam and Eve.  After all, Satan was beautiful, magnificent and powerful and these two lowly creatures where naked and ignorant.  Yet, God knew from the beginning that man would REPENT and LIVE while Satan would REBEL and DIE!

Satan’s DEFEAT was declared in the Garden of Eden, after the fall of Adam and Eve from their Innocence.  Satan’s was judged for his role in their fall … he deceived Eve to doubt God’s word about the forbidden fruit and the GOODNESS of God … and he caused Adam to have to choose between his love for Eve (his flesh) and his love for God.  Adam choose his flesh (Eve) and that is the nature we inherit from Adam … SIN … a Self Indulgent Nature that wants the BEST for self and thinks it knows what is BEST for self.  The human nature is born Spiritually separated from God, distrustful of Him and REBELLIOUS toward Him … trusting self over God.

The GREAT LIE of Satan to Adam and Eve was that they couldn’t trust God for the best in life … and when Adam ate the forbidden fruit, he broke the trust of God and Adam’s nature of innocence toward God was changed to one of DISTRUST toward God.  At Adam’s fall, he became Spiritually separated from God, he no longer had the indwelling or COVERING of the Holy Spirit upon him … Adam lost the assurance of God that was drawing him and allowing him to FREELY fellowship with God.  Adam became Spiritually DEAD toward God and he FEARED God … he started to DIE physically and he feared DEATH because he knew there was JUDGEMENT for his action!  But God knew from the BEGINNING that SIN would CORRUPT His world and in the Garden of Eden God provided a way to reconcile Adam and Eve back into fellowship with Him through the blood sacrifice of an innocent animal, which was a foreshadow of the blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. 

However, the damage was DONE by the SIN of Adam and as a result ALL of mankind is born with the fallen SIN nature of Adam, Spiritually DEAD, separated from God … born to DIE this way, cast into the Lake of Fire, unless they too are reconciled to God by believing in the BLOOD of Jesus that saves them from their SIN.  This SIN is in the conscience of every person, an acknowledgement of their guilty conscience that they are MISSING the mark of perfection … and this is why people make up their own justification to try and prove they are worthy … even convincing themselves that they can defeat SIN and Satan if they join in league together for “good”.  Yet, all this Humanist reasoning and REBELLION toward God can SEAR the conscience to the point where the still small voice of “guilt” from the the Holy Spirit can’t be heard.  And this is the FINAL judgement … to be given over by God to your SINFUL vain imagination … a REPROBATE mind that is unable to REASON and be saved from SIN.

Many Christians who are “zealous” for righteousness to reign on earth think that they can defeat Satan and remove his grip on this world by a PHYSICAL assault against the Muppet and Minion who serve Satan … but this is vain “Hopium” because (a) God has NOT ordained Satan’s DEFEAT by this method and (b) most people have NO IDEA how many people serve Satan through Luciferian Secret Societies, Zionist Bankers and Government Intelligence Agencies. 

Also, the 401K RETIREMENT investment funds are managed by Blackrock … which is in league with the Zionist Bankers and the Global Deep State Government.  So how many Christian have you heard say they don’t want their Zionist retirement money?  NONE, in fact it’s just the opposite, they think they can be RICH and RULE over this Zionist BLOOD money in some righteous way … but the love of money is the ROOT of EVIL.  It fact, it’s a miracle if a RICH person REPENTS and comes to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, because the money BLINDS the person of their TRUE need, which is Jesus Christ!

And some people “naively” think they can DEFEAT the EVIL of this world by uniting together with “good intentions” of peace like the United Nothing – UN or the Worst Economic Fraud – WEF.  But this is utter nonsense, since the nature of man is SINFUL not good … in fact there is NOTHING good to unite people together except the BANNER of Jesus Christ.  Even then this world has been judged and it will be BURNT up by FIRE!

The Victory OVER Satan by the Saints in the Book of Revelation:

The VICTORY over Satan has ALREADY been won by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and we diminish Satan’s power of Dominion over the earth by RESISTING his temptations and by declaring that Jesus is the ONLY One who has the right of Dominion to be King over the earth.  Jesus alone is worthy of Praise and he ALONE has the right to RULE and REIGN over the nations and Muppet and Minions who serve Satan.  We are to proclaim this truth even if it means we will suffer physical death … it’s our Faith in Christ that “overcomes” the EVIL of this world. 

1. Church Age Saints – Those in the grave and those alive at the pre-Tribulation Rapture:

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? – 1 John 5:4-5

And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’— as I also have received from My Father; – Revelation 2:26-27

2. Great Tribulation Age Saints who are martyred for their testimony first 2 years:

When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. – Revelation 6:9

So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb – Revelation 7:14

3. The Saints who DIE during the first 3 1/2 years of the Antichrist Kingdom:

And they (Saints in Heaven) overcame him (Satan as he is cast from Heaven) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. – Revelation 12:11

4. The Saints who DIE during the last 3 1/2 years of the Beast Kingdom:

Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ”  “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.” – Revelation 14:13

And I saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who were victorious over the beast and his image and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding harps of God. – Revelation 15:2

5. The Saints who are protected thru Tribulation and WRATH and enter the Millennium:

Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. – Revelation 14:12

Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” – Revelation 19:9

And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. – Revelation 20:4

This has been the way to DEFEAT sin and Satan from the very beginning … through the BORN AGAIN BIRTH of BELIEVING in Jesus and to daily live in VICTORY by BELIEVING in what Jesus is doing in you and through you.  Jesus is the Light of the World (John 8:12). 

Through the chosen SEED of Eve, came the Chosen One of God, Jesus Christ … Jesus crushed the HEAD of the Serpent at the cross but He was bruised on His heel by Satan because He trod upon the earth as a man … Jesus paid for the SIN of man and Jesus STANDS in the WAY of Satan’s accusations of man’s SIN, for those who put their FAITH in Him.

Therefore there is now no condemnation at all for those who are in Christ Jesus. – Romans 8:1

Here is the breakdown of the Book of Revelation according to the word of God … it is NOT a Chiastic structure but it is important to represent the order of EVENTS in the Book of Revelation relative to the Church Age which John was living in and the Ages “after” the Church Age.

Chapters 4-22 : The things which will take place after “this”, the things AFTER the completion of the Church Age by the RAPTURE of the Church to Heaven

Chiastic structure of the Chapter 12 of the Book of Revelation:

I think Revelation 4:1 is the best scriptural support for the pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church but there is ALSO a RAPTURE of a Man-Child in Rev 12:5 before the TWO 3 1/2 year periods.  Who is this “man-child”?  A representative of the pre-Tribulation Church or the “First Fruits” believing remnant of 144,000 Jews or Jesus Himself?

She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up (RAPTURED) to God and His throne. – Revelation 12:5

And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations ‘He (The Church) shall rule them with a rod of iron; – Revelation 2:26

These (the 144,000 Jews) are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes.  – Revelation 14:4

And from His mouth (Jesus) proceeds a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty – Revelation 19:15

I will discuss more about the identity of this Man-Child in the next section but for now, let’s look at the Chiastic structure of Revelation 12 … which is the Central Axis of the Book of Revelation.  Revelation 12 first describes a SIGN in the Heavens … this sign appeared Sept 23, 2017!  Then it describes a Birth/Rapture of the Man-Child who will rule with a rod of iron with Jesus during the Millennium. Then Revelation 12 describes TWO 3 1/2 year periods (7 years) where a faithful remnant of Jewish believes will be protected by God.  This 7 year period is known as Jacob’s Trouble, the last 7 years of discipline left of the 490 years after Jesus was CUT OFF from His ministry at the Cross (Daniel 9:27).  Jesus will RETURN after the 7 years and these faithful Jews who have been protected will recognize Jesus when He RETURNS as their Messiah and be saved! 

“And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. – Zechariah 12:10

As I have stated previously, there is a pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Born AGAIN believers, then a Great Tribulation and Harvest of Believers (Seal judgements) during the persecution of the Antichrist.  Then the Antichrist will sign a 7 year period peace covenant with the Nations so Israel can build a Temple in Jerusalem … which the 2 witnesses (Moses and Elijah) will oversee for the the first 3 1/2 years of God’s wrath (Trumpet judgements).  The 144,000 will be sealed prior to the start of the Trumpet judgements but it is not specifically mentioned what they do during this time.  I think the Antichrist King and the Harlot Church will rule the NWO Kingdom for the first 3 1/2 years … Think of it like a Global Communist Chinese government on steroids.

After 3 1/2 years the Beast who has come up from the Bottomless Pit (Trumpet 5) will “inhabit” the Antichrist as though to resurrect him from a “fatal wound” and then the Beast/Antichrist will KILL the two witnesses … then the Beast/Antichrist will enter the temple and declare himself to be “God”, which is the Abomination of Desolation.  Then for the last 3 1/2 years the Beast and the False Prophet will only fed those who worship him and take his Mark of the Beast!

At the end of the 7 years Christ RETURNS to earth with His Bride and all those who have been killed believing in Him during the Tribulation period.  Jesus will KILL all those who have taken the MotB and remove the Goat nation people, allowing the sheep nation people to enter the Millennium period.  In addition the Jews who were protected during the Tribulation will look upon Jesus and be SAVED as they are given a new heart of understanding to serve him during the Millennium period.  Also at this time the Old Testament Saints will be resurrected onto the earth and the Bride of Christ and the Resurrected Saints will have a Marriage Supper on earth for 1,000 years.

Who is the Man-Child who is RAPTURED to Heaven?

So who is this Man-child who “is” (future event that is prophesied to occur during the Great Tribulation/WRATH period) RAPTURED ALIVE to Heaven who “was” (previously prophesied) as the one who would rule all nations with a rod of iron?   

I have written extensively about the Man-child who I previously said was the “RAPTURED” Pre-Tribulation Born Again Church … but I am now leaning toward the idea that this Man-child in Revelation 12:5 represents the 144,000 Jewish male-children who are RAPTURED to Heaven and SEALED, after the Great Tribulation Seal judgements and prior to the Trumpet Judgements.

SEALING of the 144,000 Revelation 7:1 After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree. 2Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, 3saying, “Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.” 4And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed:

At this point you may be wondering how much time I put into pondering these things of God … and I couldn’t tell you.  God has given me an analytical mind, to look for an order of how things function so it makes logical sense, has purpose and relieves the burdens of man.  Jesus was a carpenter, he understood how to build and the effect use of tools (Technology of His day).  Of course Jesus is the Master Builder of EVERYTHING … and we are created in His image, so we share in His spirit to build in an orderly way according to God’s will and purpose.

I am looking for order in God’s Word to EXPOSE the Demonic order of the Antichrist Kingdom, which is the New World Order of Digital BIO-ID CONTROL and the Beast Kingdom which is DAMNED order of the Mark of the BEAST!

The Male-Child who was to come and RULE all the Nations with a rod of iron is Jesus Christ … He was prophesied to come in Genesis 3:15.  But the Book of Revelation is about FUTURE events … Jesus has ALREADY come but He wasn’t RAPTURED to Heaven ALIVE like Enoch or Elijah.  Jesus gave His life on the cross, was Resurrected from the dead and ASCENED to Heaven … so who is the Man-Child?

The Book of Revelations does describe the Church Age Saints and their RAPTURE to Heave (Revelation 4:1) … and it describes the Great Tribulation Saints of the SEAL judgement but having looked at the Chiastic structure of the Book of Revelation and the Chiastic structure of the Chapter 12, I am led to understand that Chapters (2-5) and (19-22) describe the Church  and Chapters (6,7) and (17-18) describe the Tribulation Saints.  Then Chapters (8-11) and (13-16) are about the Jews 7 year time of Jacob’s Trouble and Chapter 12 is primarily about them … including the birth of the Man-Child … the First Fruits of the Jews.

This is a discussion of why a 9 year period of Judgement (2 years Great Tribulation) and (7 years Wrath) makes sense based on my calculations of the Shmita cycle:

Leviticus 25:18 ‘So you shall observe My statutes and keep My judgments, and perform them; and you will dwell in the land in safety. 19Then the land will yield its fruit, and you will eat your fill, and dwell there in safety. 20‘And if you say, “What shall we eat in the seventh year, since we shall not sow nor gather in our produce?” 21Then I will command My blessing on you in the sixth year, and it will bring forth produce enough for three years. 22And you shall sow in the eighth year, and eat old produce until the ninth year; until its produce comes in, you shall eat of the old harvest. 

This is the discussion of the timing of the Rapture and RETURN of Christ based on the fact it will occur at the end of a “Shmita” year but what is a Shmita year and how does it function in God’s divine calendar?  The word Shmita means Sabbath year, and Sabbath means REST.  The pattern of God’s REST is seen in the book of Genesis where God created the Heavens and the Earth in 6 days and rested on the 7 th day.  This pattern is also seen in the God’s timeline for His creation, where a day is like 1,000 years … So man will rule for 6,000  years and then Christ will RULE for 1,000 years.  This seems logical but what “year” of creation are we at now, relative to the beginning?  No one knows for sure but we are close to the 6,000 year mark and perhaps the year 2022 is the 5993 AM, when the FINAL 7 years of Discipline for the Jews begins, followed by the RETURN of Christ to set up His Millennium Kingdom.

The pattern of God’s perfection in the number 7 is found many time in Scripture, like the 7 Jewish Feasts and the 7 times the Jews circled Jericho, causing it FALL.  Also there are LOT of 7’s in the Book of Revelation … Like the 7 Churches, 7 Lampstands, 7 Angels, 7 Seals, 7 Trumpets, 7 Thunders and the 7 Bowls. 

God gave the Law to the Jews so they would be an example of God’s holiness to the Nations and His forgiveness of SIN through a Blood Sacrifice.  One of the laws was to have a Sabbath day of rest on the 7th day of each week (where the Jews were to do NO work), which was after the pattern of God’s perfect order in creation.  God also told them to have a Sabbath “year” of rest after 6 years of work … this is the Shmita year. 

But the Jews didn’t observe this Shmita year of rest for 490 years so God disciplined them for the 70 Sabbath years they ignored by exiling them into Babylonian captivity for 70 years.  After 70 years the Jews returned to Jerusalem but then God decreed 70×70 or 490 years of MORE discipline upon them, a time when the Gentile nations continued to rule over over Jerusalem.  God told Daniel that after 483 years that their Messiah “Jesus” would be CUT OFF on the Cross.  And that is where the Jews are today …. waiting to complete their final 7 years of Discipline from God called “Jacob’s Trouble” before God restores His blessing upon them at the RETURN of Jesus to the earth to REIGN and RULE from Jerusalem.  At that time the FAITHFUL remnant of Jews who are protected during the 7 years will LOOK upon Jesus and be saved. 

So you see, Jesus will RETURN to REIGN and RULE over the earth after a Shmita year of REST … but how does this 7 year cycle align with the Calendars we use today?  Also another thing to consider is that God asked the Jews to observe a Jubilee year of REST, after 7 cycles of 7 years or 49 year, in the 50th year this also was a Sabbath year of REST for the land.  And in addition on the 50th Jubilee year you were to FORGIVE personal debts and you were to RETURN land back to the original owner if land was given to you to secure a debt.   

So will the 6,000 year of creation be the Jubilee year when the 1,000 years of God’s REST begins?  And if so, where are we in the Shmita cycle?  Many think that on Rosh Hosanna of 2021 we began a Shimta year, therefore they think that this  year 2022 is the year of the Rapture of the Church followed by the FINAL 7 years of God’s WRATH (Jacob’s Trouble).  But others like myself think the last Shimta year was Rosh Hosanna of 2016, therefore the next Shimta year is 2023 and the FINAL 7 years begins on Rosh Hosanna 2024.  My speculation is that the Rapture will occur this year 2022 on Rosh Hosanna (or close to that time) and then there will be 2 years of Great Tribulation (Seal judgements) … and then in 2024 this begins the 7 years of God’s wrath (Trumpets and Bowl judgements), which Christ returning on Rosh Hosanna 2031 to REMOVE the Beast Kingdom and establish His Millennium Kingdom.   

As you can see, because there is NO clear understanding of what year of Creation we are in or the Shimta year … Nobody knows the day of the Rapture of the Church.  Maranatha!

Why will there be pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church?

The best reason to me is because this is the ONLY logical way that the events in Revelation can be reconciled with the scripture that specifies a RAPTURE of Believers who are DEAD in the Grave and ALIVE on earth … BOTH “CAUGHT UP” to meet the Lord in the air.  The Rapture is NOT a question of “IF” but WHEN and from my study of scripture the ONLY possible time for a Rapture of ALIVE believers to occur is PRIOR to the Tribulation period.  So let’s look at the other possible times of the Rapture such as .. mid-Trib, pre-WRATH or post-Trib and post-Millennium and discuss the logical problem they present.

Here is the Rapture verse from 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

1 Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Pre-Trib Rapture: First of all you have to understand there are TWO RETURNS of Jesus … His Return to GET His Bride from earth before the Tribulation and His RETURN to earth with His Bride after the Tribulation/Wrath period.  The scripture describes an UNKNOWN time of Jesus’ Return called “The RAPTURE” or “The Day of Christ Jesus” and a KNOWN time of His Return called “The Day of the Lord”.  This failure to SEE TWO RETURNS of Jesus is similar to the blindness of the Pharisees who were looking for a CONQUERING Messiah.  But Jesus told the Pharisees that the scripture spoke of Him … and He was referring to the scriptures of the suffering Messiah who came FIRST to DIE for their SINS.  Sadly, like then, the hard hearts of most Jews today reject Jesus because they refuse to see His “TWO” Advents in scripture … the CROSS and the CROWN.

And sadly many Christians are like the Pharisees and don’t understand that the scriptures refer to “TWO” Returns of Jesus … one to rescue His Bride at an UNKNOWN time and another to set up His Millennium Kingdom after 7 years of Tribulation.  And another thing that many Christians don’t understand is that God is NOT done with the Jews, the Church has NOT replaced the Jews but the Jews are in a “time out” period of discipline while the Church is on the earth.  There are still 7 years left of Discipline for the Jews out of the 490 that have been decreed by God. Therefore, the BORN AGAIN Church will be taken OUT of the way by the Rapture and the LEFT Behind Church will be taken OUT by persecution by the Antichrist Messiah during the Great Tribulation before the last 7 years of Jacob’s Trouble, which is to COMPLETE the Discipline for the Jews.

We have clearly established there will be a RAPTURE of Believers who are DEAD and ALIVE at the Coming of the Lord according to 1 Thess 4 .  I have stated the reason I believe in a Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church and that Revelation 4:1 is eluding to a Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church.  Now, let’s discuss the other possible timing of the Rapture and why I think they don’t make sense.

Pre-WRATH Rapture:  Well this timing is hard to pin down but most Bible commentators say God’s wrath begins with the Trumpet judgements … and they say that the multitude of Saints before the Throne in Rev 7:14 represent Resurrected Believers, BOTH Dead and Rapture Church Saints who have come out of the Seal judgement 1-6.  In fact Seal # 6 is often called the pre-Tribulation Rapture event, since many think we are experiencing the Seal judgements NOW and the Antichrist is riding, conquering the world. 

The problem with this theory is that John is told in at Seal #5 that those under the altar have been martyred for their testimony and they are given a WHITE ROBE and told to wait a little longer until the REST are martyred like them.  Then when we see the REST of those in White ROBES before the throne we understand they have been Martyred during the Great Tribulation … not Saints from the Church age.

And I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb – Revelation 7;14

Mid-Trib Rapture: Well, there is kind of a Rapture/Resurrection at the mid-way point … It’s the two witnesses who are resurrected from the Dead and Ascend to Heaven but there aren’t any ALIVE Believers referenced in Revelation 11 who are taken to Heaven.  Some commentators say the two witnesses are two GROUPS, “The Church” and “The Jews” but this doesn’t make sense because these TWO witnesses do their ministry in Jerusalem and there isn’t room enough for all the Church Age believers to evangelize in Jerusalem, much less have millions of Christian calling down FIRE everywhere! 

It seems like most Christians want to be a HERO for Jesus, like the TWO witnesses or the 144,000 … having some kind of supernatural power to avoid HARM and DOLE out justice while they witness about Jesus. 

Post-Trib Rapture:  Some commentators say that Church Age Christians who have survived 7 years of Tribulation will suddenly be CAUGHT up to Heaven on a horse to join Jesus as He returns to claim VICTORY over the Beast.  But what kind of Blessed Hope is a hope that shows up AFTER the TROUBLE is over?  This is like a Las Vegas quickly wedding, not a Marriage of the Lamb of God. 

The best support for a Pre-Tribulation Rapture is there is NO other scripture in Revelation that describes anyone ALIVE being caught up to Heaven other than Rev 4:1, the pre-Trib rapture of John to Heaven … after the Church Age and BEFORE the Tribulation period. 

After Revelation 4:1 there is no RAPTURE/RESURRECTION mentioned of anyone ALIVE on earth … Believers who DIE on earth during the Tribulation are Resurrected in Heaven and will RETURN in their Resurrected body with Jesus AFTER the Tribulation.  Believers who are protected through the Tribulation will LIVE in their natural body during the Millennium.  We have already discussed the Resurrected Martyred Saints who come out of the Seal Judgement before the WRATH of God.  But how about Believers who die after the SEAL judgements, who are KILLED for refusing to take the Mark of the Beast or DIE of starvation or are killed by the TURMOIL of what is happening on earth? 

BTW, I think the children who are BEFORE their age of accountability are TAKEN in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of Believers, where they have the choice to stay in Heaven and I think they ALL decide to stay. 

I think the “patience of the Saints” refers to believers who survive or who are protected thru the entire 7 year Tribulation period.

Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. – Rev 14:12 

And I think the “rest from their labors” refers to believers who die, after the Seals … they instantly receive their RESURRECTED body and join the Saints in Heaven.

Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.” – Rev 14:13

Post-Millennium Rapture:  This is probably the most interesting of the alternate Rapture timing possibility … but it simply doesn’t make sense that Paul is referring to a post-Millennium Rapture when He talks about believers meeting Jesus in the air because during the Millennium Jesus is REIGNING and RULING on earth … so He doesn’t need to meet anyone in the air. 

It is my speculation that anyone who dies during the Millennium will be a judgement for a public display of their blatant SIN of unbelief … like the unforgivable sin.  And I anyone who is a believer at the start of the Millennium will make it thru the 1,000 years and anyone who is born and become a believer will make it thru the 1,000 years.  However, there is a point at the very end of the Millennium where the Believers ALIVE must be REMOVED from the earth, so Satan is RELEASE from the Bottomless Pit and the Unbelievers who are LEFT behind mount a Final REBELLION Magog war against Jesus.

So at the Post-Millennium Rapture there are no DEAD in Christ who RISE but only the ones ALIVE will receive their RESURRECTED body.  Then those left behind will first be physically KILLED by Jesus, then ALL the unbelievers who are DEAD will be judged at the White Throne to determine the degree of their punishment in the Lake of Fire for all eternity!

Then God will RESTORE the Earth giving it a NEW BIRTH by FIRE …. and ALL the Resurrected Believers will return to Earth inside the New Jerusalem City that comes down from Heaven onto the Eternal Earth.
