The Resurrection and Judgement … How Many Are There?

In this article I am compiling information on “when” all the people from Adam to “Zelda” (the last man on earth) will receive their resurrected bodies and how they will serve the Lord throughout eternity.   Most Christians aren’t concerned about the different times that God has determined for different “groups” of believers to be resurrected or the way these groups will serve and glorify God through eternity but I have the kind of mind that really likes to search God’s word and see what He has said about these things.

Jesus uses the analogy that the world is like a field and the sower went out and spread the seed of the gospel and some of the seed fell on the road, the rocky ground, the weeds and the good soil.  This is a great analogy because as Church Age believers we are to obey Christ’s command to preach the good news of the gospel, which is like spreading the sowing His seed of eternal life.  We realize the seed we sow, which is the gospel of Jesus Christ, may fall upon the hearts of various conditions and those who accept the seed will grow at different rates.

Matthew 13:18 “Hear then the parable of the sower. 19“When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is the one on whom seed was sown beside the road. 20“The one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the man who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away. 22“And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 23“And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.”

Then Jesus spoke again about a field that an owner (God) had planted with good wheat seed (believers) which is like Kingdom of Heaven (the Church) but when the men (elders of the Church) who worked the field were sleeping (not abiding in Jesus) then the enemy (the world, the flesh and the Devil) came and sowed tares (non-believers).  When the elders saw that some of their congregation in the Church did not appear to be believers they asked the owner (God) if should ask those people to leave?  But God said “no” He will separate the tares from the wheat at the close of the Age.

Matthew 13:24 Jesus presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25“But while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went away. 26“But when the wheat sprouted and bore grain, then the tares became evident also.27“The slaves of the landowner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28“And he said to them, ‘An enemy has done this!’ The slaves said to him, ‘Do you want us, then, to go and gather them up?’ 29“But he said, ‘No; for while you are gathering up the tares, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30‘Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather up the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them up; but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”

You see a blood animal sacrifice was necessary for the forgiveness of man’s sin, to overcome the “penalty of sin” and then the body of the animal was to be unblemished, that is, perfect in the way God created the animal.  Our blood and body is tainted with sin and is unacceptable to God as a sacrifice.  But in Jesus case, since His body was without sin He was able to offer Himself as a living sacrifice for us and by His blood He paid for our sin.

The point is the the good seed makes the wheat and the wheat makes the bread and the “bread of life” is the body of Christ.  We take Jesus into our life (body and blood) and He gives us eternal life.  Our body is sowed in corruption because of sin and when our body dies, if we have the life of Christ in us (His un-corruptible seed) then we get a new resurrected body, like His!

1 Corinthians 15: 35But someone will say, “How are the dead raised? And with what kind of body do they come?” 36You fool! That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies; 37and that which you sow, you do not sow the body which is to be, but a bare grain, perhaps of wheat or of something else. 38But God gives it a body just as He wished, and to each of the seeds a body of its own. 39All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fish. 40There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is one, and the glory of the earthly is another. 41There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory.

42So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body; 43it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45So also it is written, “The first MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 46However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. 47The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. 48As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly. 49Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly.

As a kid I remember singing the song “Bringing in the Sheaves” in church and this is what God is doing as He brings home groups of believers and gives them a resurrected body.  The believers are the wheat and God is the harvester of the wheat.  He is going to use the wheat of our life to make us into “Living Bread” like His Son.

Some have said that the Jews were suppose to use the condition of the “Barley Harvest” to set the timing for the beginning of the religious year of Nissan and the beginning feast of Passover.  Since the Jews used a moon cycle for a month (which is 29.5 days long) every few years they had to “add” an extra month (Adar II) before beginning the Passover month.  Some have said that the Jews added a month (moon) depending on the ripeness of the Barley Harvest but I think it is more likely from Scripture that timing of the Passover was determined by the “turning of the year” at the Spring equinox (Exodus 34:22, Exodus 23:16).  The Hebrew word for equinox is “Tekufah” and is used in the above scripture.   http://spiritandtorah.com/barley-is-not-aviv.html

The interesting thing about the Barley seed is that it looks just like a sperm cell.  The life of DNA from the man is in the sperm cell and when the two become one, a new life is pro-created by God, a soul is born.  This is what God asked Adam and Eve to do, be fruitful and multiple.  God even made sex the most pleasurable activity on earth to make it easy to obey this command.  Yet, for some reason Adam and Eve were more distracted by Satan and deceived by his lies concerning the forbidden fruit.

God is looking for the seed of His word to fall on the good soil of people’s hearts and become a BIG harvest of believers into Heaven.  Note, the harvest for believers to resurrection bodies is done on Feast days.

The Resurrections in order (not sure about the days or dates):

1.  The Feast of “First Fruits” –  between 30-33 AD –  Jesus Christ rose on Sunday, the first day of the week when this Festival day is observed following Passover (1 Corinthians 15:20) .  This begins the Church Age.  (Note, the Old Testament Saints were taken to Heaven in their soul body.  It may be that those who died during Jesus’ ministry were the ones who were raised from the grave with a flesh body to die again in the Church Age)

2.  The Feast of Pentecost (day no one knows) – Summer 2019 or 2020? – “The Wheat Harvest” –  the Rapture and Resurrection of the Church.  After the Rapture of the Church the 7 year Tribulation begins either on the same day or soon thereafter.

3.  The Feast of Passover & Unleavened Bread –  Spring 2023 or 2024? – “The Gleaning of the Wheat Harvest” – the Resurrection of the Tribulation Saints and the Resurrection of the two witnesses – at the mid-way point of the Tribulation period, at the 3 1/2 year mark when the Antichrist commits the Abomination of Desolation sacrifice in Jerusalem.

4.  The Feast of Trumpets – Fall 2026 or 2027 – “The 144,000 Jews” – the Rapture and Resurrections of the 144,000 Jews – At the close of Tribulation.

5.  The Feast of Tabernacles – Fall 2026 or 2027 – The Resurrection of the OT Saints and OT Jews at the start of the Millennium period.  (This also includes the resurrection of the Tribulation Saints that died during the last 3 1/2 years of the Tribulation.)

6.  The Feast of Tabernacles – Fall 3026 or 3027 – The Rapture and resurrection of the Millennium Saints at the close of the Millennium period and at the restoration of the New Heaven and Earth.

7.  The Feast of Atonement – Fall 3026 or 3027 – The “Second Resurrection” – the Resurrection of the tares (unbelievers) to eternal death death in the Lake of Fire – At the close of the Millennium

Corinthians 15:20 But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. 21 For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming, 24 then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be abolished is death. 27 For HE HAS PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET. But when He says, “All things are put in subjection,” it is evident that He is excepted who put all things in subjection to Him. 28 When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all.

The Resurrections can be viewed as “Three”

1. Christ, the First Fruits (when He rose from the grave!)

2. All those in Christ at His coming (the First Resurrection for believers)

3. All those NOT in Christ (the Second Resurrection for unbelievers)

Here’s another view of the Resurrections as “Two” groups of “Three”

1a.  Jesus Christ is the First Fruits Barley Harvest

1b.  The body of Christ, the Church is the Main Wheat Harvest that is resurrected when Jesus returns at the pre-trib Rapture

1c.  Then the Tribulation Saints are the Gleaning Harvest that is resurrected at the mid-way point of the Tribulation

2a.  The 144,00 Jews are the First Fruits Harvest at end of the Tribulation

2b.  The OT Saints and Jews are the main Harvest resurrection at the beginning of the Millennium.

2c.  Then the all believers on earth are the Gleaning Harvest at the end of the Millennium.

At the end of the Millennium (7,000 AM) the the plan of Redemption will be complete, a new Heaven and Earth will be established.  Jesus role as executor of the plan of Redemption will be complete … the Body of Christ will be complete … the plan God had for man to reign and rule over earth will be realized … sin and death will be no more … all that God planned before sin entered the world will be right back on course … God will be “all and all”.

              First Resurrection                          | Second Resurrection
Passover| Shavuot| Tabernacles         | End of Moral Man
Barley  | Wheat   | Sweet Grapes      | Tares & Sour Grapes
Christ  | Church  | Rest of Believers | Unbelievers

Of particular interest is the of the “valley of dry bones” that come back to life (Ezekiel 37:1-9). This is a time when the whole House of Israel will be saved at the close of the Tribulation period when the Jews will look upon Jesus whom they pierced and realize He is their Messiah!  They will not get a resurrected body at this time but they will receive a resurrected, born again, heart toward Jesus.  Since they will live during the Millennium period it is possible that they will not see death but will live long enough to enjoy the “Feast of Tabernacles” resurrection!

Note, the fig tree is synonymous with Israel, it is their symbol on earth.  Jesus cursed the fig tree because there was no fruit on the tree and it withered and died (Matthew 21:18-19).  This was Jesus’ way of indicating that Israel had rejected Him as their Messiah and they had no fruit of faithfulness toward Him.  The symbol for the Nation of Israel is a “fig tree”.  It was also Jesus way of saying that Israel would be a “dead” fig tree and “cut off and up rooted” during the Church Age period that would occur after after His death and resurrections, as prophesied by Daniel.  And in Olivet Discourse Jesus talks a lot about the what will happen during the Tribulation period and He describes the condition that will be on earth right before the “Day of the Lord”.

Matthew 24: 32“Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; 33so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door. 34“Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.35“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

But Jesus also give hope to Israel that the fig tree would once again put forth it’s tender branches and blossom.   This occurred as prophesied by Jesus on November 29th, 1947 United Nation declared Israel as a Nation.  And since a generation is 70 year, the year 2017 should be the year that the “Day of the Lord” will begins, since this generation who saw this sign will not pass away.  However, it is more likely that the 70 years is a discipline or observation period for Israel since being declared a Nation in 1947.  But once again Israel has failed to recognize Jesus as their Messiah and now the 70 years are nearly up.  Based on this analysis could it be that the Rapture will occur on November 29th, 2017?

Some people also have found it an interesting correlation that the Balfour declaration that Israel should be recognized as a Nation when out on November 2, 1917.  Based on this analysis could it be that the Rapture will occur on November 2, 2017?   There are so many reasons and signs to anticipate the appearing of Jesus for His Church.  Everyday since September 21-23, 2017 is a “high watch” date because the “Great Sign” of Revelation 12 has been fulfilled and there are so many reasons to think 2017 is the year of the Rapture based on the 5993 sign.  http://the5993sign.com/

Revelation 6: 12I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood; 13and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind.

Isn’t it interesting that the fig tree that started to bloom in 1947 now has some fruit on the tree but the fruit is “unripe” … not yet faithful.  This is the time that Israel is pursued into the wilderness by Satan and the fallen Angels and God miraculously protects them in Petra for the last 3 1/2 years of the Tribulation period.  I think this is the time that the faith of the Jews starts to grown, in that they realize the Antichrist is not their Messiah and perhaps the One whom they pierced really is the their Messiah.
