I am not a pessimist or an optimist, I am a realist.  When sin is legalized by a nation and a parade is held in it’s honor then I know that God’s judgement is coming soon.  The camp of people opposing the sin of homosexuality and the camp of people approving it are no longer in a debate concerning the merits of their position but they are fortifying their camp and preparing for war.   America is polarized beyond reconciliation and the hoof beats of end times are fast approaching.

Revelation 6:1-8

The First Seal—Rider on White Horse – the Antichrist makes a treaty with Israel for 7 years

1Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, “Come.” 2I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

The Second Seal—Rider on the Red Horse – War

      3When He broke the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come.” 4And another, a red horse, went out; and to him who sat on it, it was granted to take peace from the earth, and that men would slay one another; and a great sword was given to him.

The Third Seal—Rider on the Black Horse – Famine

      5When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, “Come.” I looked, and behold, a black horse; and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. 6And I heard something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not damage the oil and the wine.”

The Fourth Seal—Rider on the Pale Horse – Death

      7When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come.” 8I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.

The hoof beats I am referring too are those of the four horses from the book of Revelation.  As each of four seals is removed from the scroll (the last will and testament of planet earth) a horse and a rider are revealed that usher in a judgement from God during the first 3 1/2 years of the tribulation.  The removing of the seals is the beginning of the 7 year tribulation period, the last week of the 70th weeks of discipline that Daniel prophesied for the Jews.  This period is also know as Jacob’s trouble, the “day of the Lord” and the “end times”.  It is not the end of man’s existence, for we are eternal beings made in the image of God but is the end of time for man to rule and reign upon the earth.  It is the time that God will judge those upon the earth for rebuilding the tower of Babel and believing in the “peace” of the New World Order, the Kingdom of Earth by the unholy trinity of Satan, the Antichrist and the False Prophet, instead of believing in the Kingdom of Heaven, the peace and person of Jesus Christ and the holy trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

It has been said that “the future casts it’s shadow upon us”  and we can see today the signs of Satan’s Kingdom being built on earth, a One World Bank, a One World Religion and a One World Government.  And in the distance we can hear the approaching hoof beats of the Apocalypse, which is the sound of the world rejecting God and approving of sin.  It is the sad and unsettling sound of human reasoning overruling the Godly moral revelation concerning sin.  It is the sound of lies and deception that will usher in the king of lies and deception, the Antichrist .. and it will usher in God’s judgement and defeat of Satan!  By the way, like many others, I think the “rapture” of the church (born again believers of God) will be the event that triggers and starts the seven year Tribulation period.

The “key” sin that crosses the line of God’s grace and ushers in the end times is the sin of glorifying in the sin of homosexuality.  It is not that the sin of homosexuality is any worse than any other sin that God is bringing the judgment of the end times.  Any sex committed outside of the marriage between one man and one woman is a sin.  God will forgive the sin of homosexuality as he forgives people who commit adultery or fornication if that person repents of their sexual sin and asks God for forgiveness.  However, the issue that forces God’s judgment for homosexuality is when a nation legalizes homosexual behavior and those who practice this sin insist that homosexuality is no longer a sin but it is a lifestyle to be proud of and celebrate.

Like a musical number that is increasing in volume as it reaches it finale, the voices of those who approve of this sin and the voices of those who oppose of this sin has reach the point of polarization where there is no longer a way to find compromise.  This issue is tantamount for Christians today, in the same way the issue over declaring Caesar to be God was tantamount for the first Christians.  If a person refused to proclaim that Caesar was God then that person was killed.  Today, Christians are not facing a death sentence but if they do not honor a same sex marriage but they will loose their business.  And we have not yet seen the fight come to the church.  A church could loose their tax exempt status if they refuse to marry homosexuals or worse yet a church will cease to be a church of Christ if they start preaching approval of sin from the pulpit instead of repentance from sin.  Already many “so called” churches have changed their stand concerning homosexuality, no longer calling it a sin but an alternate life style that should be not only tolerated but approved and celebrated.

Look, God has defined marriage between one man and one woman, the two shall become one (Genesis 2:24).  God made them man and woman, Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve or Madame and Eve.  A sexual relation that honor’s God can be done no other way other than in a marriage between one man and one woman.  Marriage is a union defined by God not by man.  And it is not just man and woman who are judged for their sin but a nation is also judged by God, therefore if a nation passes a tax laws that honor civil unions God will judge the nation because God sees nothing civil in union between same sex partners.  In the case of a nation that legalizes abortion, for some reason God is less offended by the sin of abortion than the sin of homosexuality, perhaps it is because the babies come into being but immediately go back to Him, plus God’s judgment comes upon the world from the act of abortion in that those on earth never benefit from the blessing the unborn person had to offer.  But in the case of legalizing homosexual union, the plan of God to bring people into existence is seriously undermined and endangered, since it takes a man and a woman to conceive a baby.  Homosexuality is an offense that strikes at the very core of God’s purpose for man, which is to have souls born on earth so they can one day be “born again” into His Heavenly Kingdom.

Sadly, it is Christ who is on trail … again.  What would Jesus do if He was asked to marry two homosexuals?  The “so called” Christians who are practicing homosexuals insist that Christ would approve of their “love” relationship and would whole heartily perform the marriage ceremony.  They even believe He would change water into wine to bless the occasion.  After all isn’t that what the the gospel is all about the forgiveness of our sin.  Well yes, that is “part” of the message of the gospel, the whole gospel is however is best illustrated by the adulterous woman who the people brought before Jesus to condemn and stone according the the law.  But Jesus saw her need for His “love’ and forgiveness, so He presented the first part of the gospel to the crowd, “let he who without sin throw the first stone“ and as He writes a name in the ground and that person’s sin, one by one the crowd leaves.  Then Jesus presents the second part of the gospel which is equally important to the woman “go and sin no more”.   It is the second part of the gospel of Christian love that the homosexual Christians have conveniently failed to mention.  Instead of proclaiming their freedom “from” sin by the gospel of Christ, the homosexual Christians want to proclaim their freedom “to” sin.

Jesus didn’t specifically mention the sin of homosexuality but He also didn’t mention the sin of child molesting or kidnapping or car thief and we know these are sins.  Jesus did however confirmed that the covenant of marriage is between one man and one woman.  Mark 10:6-9 But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”  But the clearest explanation of what is going on in the mind of the homosexual is what Paul wrote in Romans.  Because they have rejected God and God has given them over to their depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper.

Romans 1:18-32 ” 18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.   24Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.  26For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.  28And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, 29being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, 30slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; 32and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.”

For the “proud” gay person, their desire to sin has overcome their desire to know the love of God and they have declared victory in acknowledging that they would rather sin than be free from sin.  It is this twisted, misrepresentation of love that is bringing the judgment of God upon the world.  Real Christian love is tolerant and inclusive of everyone because all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God but it is also a love that proclaims the destructive effects of sin and the power of God to free us from sin.  It is Christian love that speaks out for “both” the forgiveness of sin and against the practice of sin.  However, somewhere in the recent course of history, American has forgotten what real Christian love is all about.  Now those who practice real Christian love (loving the sinner but hating the sin) are called “haters”, “homophobic”, “bigots” and names that can’t be publicly printed.

We in America are not having a debate over what is virtuous or what is the definition of Christian love but we are having a screaming match over my body and my right to sin.  And to a degree the right to sin is allowed by the God because sin occurs as part of the God given right to exercise our free will, however sin is meant to bring guilt and reproach upon us so we will see the error of our way and turn to Christ to be saved from sin.  Please don’t misunderstand, it is not because a person is plagued with the sin of homosexual desire that the wrath of God is coming but it is because those plagued with this sin want others to no longer call it sin but approve of it.  For this reason God has no choice but to intervene and judge the twisted minds that have become contaminated beyond repentance.  Like the citizens of Lot, they believed the lie that the sin of homosexuality was good and they were slowly driven insane by this belief until they were no longer satisfied to practice their sin among approving homosexuals but they demanded that everyone should participate in the madness of their conduct, including visitors to their city.!

But God is not mocked or surprised that the same kind of rebellion is happening today and praise God “real Christian” are not going to be punished for this final and fatal act of rebellion.  God is going to “rapture” His born-again children to heaven before He rains down His wrath upon the earth.  And now is the time for “Closet Christians”  to take a stand for Jesus and gain rewards in heaven for their bold witness to proclaim the love of Christ that forgives our sin and conquers it!  Like Esther who told the King about the evil plot of Haman to kill the Jews, you are here for “such a time as this” , to stand up and proclaim the real gospel of Jesus Christ.

God has not changed His mind concerning what He has called sin nor has He relented from the judgment that is due man because of sin.  Sin is the rebellion of a Self Indulgent Nature that wants to define what is “best” for man in spite of what God has said is best for man.  Sin is simply missing the mark and not reaching the highest and best of what man is created by God to become.  God has created us to have a new life in Jesus Christ, not to wallow in our sin.  A person that remains a slave to sin is not living a life of faith in Jesus Christ and he cannot please God anymore than you can make chicken salad out of chicken shit.  But praise the Lord, even as God rains down His judgment upon the world during the tribulation period, many people will be saved from their sin.  However, for those who have hardened their heart to the point where they no longer think of homosexuality as a sin, they will not be saved because they have hardened their heart beyond the reach of God’s grace and the repentance that leads to salvation.  Moreover, the mere mention that the grace of God is able to free a man from his obsession to live a homosexual lifestyle is an offense to them.  And as C.S. Lewis describes the issue in the “Great Divorce”, those who continually grumble against God eventually cease to become a “person” who grumbles and become the “grumble” itself.
